FOR COMPANIES
The Operator Experience
Your new leaders are stepping into roles they aren't ready for yet. So are the people above them — stretched by new scope and new teams. The Operator Experience gets them operating like they've been in the seat a year, by day 90.
What a stalled leader costs you
A new leader who takes six months to find their feet doesn't cost six months. Their team waits on decisions. Good people get frustrated and leave. Problems that should have been caught early get expensive. Sometimes the role has to be filled again.
Most companies spend heavily to hire and promote leaders, then leave them to figure out the role alone. The Operator Experience closes that gap on purpose.
What your company gets
- Leaders who perform sooner. New and newly promoted leaders close the gap in weeks, not quarters. Less stall time, fewer costly early mistakes, less drag on their teams.
- One shared way to work. Everyone in the room leaves with the same method and the same language for hard problems. Decisions get faster because people stop starting from zero.
- Gains that compound across the company. Leaders learn to coach the method to everyone under them. Every debrief makes the next push better, so the improvement keeps spreading after the two days end.
- Proof you can show upward. At day 90 you get an After Action Report: where your leaders started, where they are now, and what to do next.
Who leads it
Greg “Vick” Navickas spent 20 years as an Air Force Special Tactics Combat Controller, including service in a special mission unit in the Joint Special Operations Command. He was constantly assigned to new teams with new problems and expected to perform fast — every time. The Operator's Method is what he built to do it.
He developed the U.S. Air Force's Basic Military Training transformation plan and helped shape the Air Force Special Tactics Human Performance plan. He leads every Operator Experience himself.
What it is
Two days and one night for up to 24 people: your new and newly stretched leaders, plus the leadership team above them. Everyone runs the method on their own role, then together as teams in an experiential event.
How it runs
- Before: a call with your sponsor, plus a short pre-work form that tells us about your people and the challenges they're facing.
- Day 1: the method, learned on scenarios that are new to everyone. Unfamiliar problems strip away habits and show how people actually think. Each person maps their own plan to day 90.
- Day 2: each person runs the full method on their own real situation, built from their pre-work. Then teams run it together in an experiential event: an unfamiliar problem, incomplete information, a clock, and an objective that changes partway through. It tests thinking under pressure, not fitness.
- After: everyone gets their Field Notes within 7 days. Group debriefs at 30, 60, and 90 days keep it running past the Monday after.
